Depeche Mode Final

The newest Depeche Mode album 30th anniversary box set including a poster, history book, the album on 12inch, the album on cd, 3 singles on cd and some postcards showing the creation of the ink patterns.

The box represents a time line going from left to right (vinyl to cd format) showing Depeche Mode are just as successful today as they were in the 80s. The cds within the box also have the pattern printed on top of them.

These are test shots for a project that AGB and I have teamed up to do. We're re-designing the latest Depeche Mode album 'Sounds of the Universe' and single covers in a limited edition box set. The ink swirling around in the bowl creates a marble effect.

This is possibly a DandAD submission in which

I had to capture the heart of a business in 5 photos.

I chose the country pub I live near and tried to

show that it was a pub that you walk or ride to,

with beautiful scenery and countryside

and that is why it is a brilliant place. It is also dog

friendly. Guy Raimes would love it. These are not

all the final photos. I am going to try and finish the

project today.

Theatre Poster

This is a poster advertising an upcoming performance of Sydney Pollack's "They Shoot Horses Don't They". The story of the production is based on a dance marathon that goes on for several months and the people slowly start getting treated like animals. My poster is based on a lunar cycle to show the length of time the dance goes on for and then I took apart a disco ball and photographed it to create a spinning effect to act as the moon.

Barcelona Project

These images were taken for a Barcelona based project. My project was a photography based diary based on the music I listened to on the journey. The lyrics in the songs I heard created the concept for each photo and the colours represented the tone of the song.

Hypochondriac Imagery

Theses images were produced for a project on hypochondria. I had to create imagery that suggested what hypochondriacs do and what they may carry with them. I created a colour coded system for medicines to be taken on specific days for specific illnesses. I used the scanner again for this as it gave a medical effect to the images scanned in colour.

Design Intervention

These images were for a project on 'out of place' design. I had to capture something out of the ordinary with a strong concept behind it. I chose to look at music in my research and through my reading I found that music can help older people remember things from when they were young. This is especially common for people with Alzheimer's and Dementia. I chose to work with this idea and decided to photograph an older woman playing ping pong as if she was young again. In all the pictures I used some modern headphones to suggest she was reminiscing. This is also aided by the fact that she is not looking directly into the camera as if she is distracted by her thoughts. The old style of the wallpaper, dart board and books all help this image capture the feeling of remembering when you were young.

The Kraken

These images were created as part of a group project. We created a story/poem about a Kraken and used a variety of mixed media to produce the images. The Krakens were created out of super sculpey.

Eating Disorders

These scans were for a project on eating disorders. I had to produce imagery for an article in a newspaper describing the problems that young people face with disorders such as Anorexia and Bulimia. I chose to use a scanner because it highlights the fact that people with these disorders are trapped and I chose to keep them black and white because it gives a serious undertone to the images. I asked the models to try and keep their faces covered to show that people usually try to hide these problems, and the chipped nail varnish and closed eyes adds to the effect of someone struggling.
